A cooperative, often referred to as a co-op, is a business or organization owned and operated by its members for their mutual benefit. In a cooperative, individuals with common needs or goals come together to collectively own and democratically control the enterprise. Members actively participate in decision-making processes, sharing responsibilities and enjoying the benefits derived from the cooperative's activities, which can include economic, social, or cultural objectives. Co-ops can take various forms, such as consumer cooperatives where members jointly purchase goods or services, worker cooperatives where employees collectively manage and own the business, or agricultural cooperatives where farmers collaborate for mutual assistance in production and marketing. The fundamental principle of cooperation among equals distinguishes cooperatives as a model fostering shared ownership, democratic governance, and shared outcomes.

Because since we are a cooperative we help and prefer to help other cooperatives. It is one of our seven principles. We are a member of the cooperative movement and we support cooperatives financially and through various solidarity movements both locally and ideally globally as well.
The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) is a global organization that represents cooperatives. As of As of January 2022, the ICA reported over 3 million cooperatives worldwide, with approximately 1.2 billion individual members.
We are relentless when it comes to making the cooperative community and planet as a whole more equal and fair. Our platform emphasizes equal opportunities for all individuals, irrespective of background, gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
